Making Annotations on the Map
1. Select the Draw Widget from the widget toolbar.
2. Choose a draw tool from the following:
3. Configure the tool settings.
4. Click on the map.
a. Click once to make point and text annotations.
b. Continue clicking to add vertices to polylines and polygons.
c. Click and drag to make lines and draw freehand.
d. Double-click to complete polylines and polygons.
5. When finished, click Clear to remove annotations.
Did you know? Annotations made by the Draw tool will appear on map prints.
Note: Drawn features will remain on the map until the features are cleared or the user logs out.
Point Settings
Select the Point draw mode.
Preview the point before placing it on the map.
Use the dropdown to select a category of point styles.
Choose a point symbol.
Configure the following settings:
Symbol size
Color
Transparency
Outline color
Outline width
- Show location measurement - Enable to display the map coordinates of point
Line Settings
Select Line, Polyline, or Freehand Polyline draw mode.
Preview the line before placing it on the map.
Choose a line symbol.
Configure the following settings:
Color
Style
Transparency
Width
Show distance measurement - Enable to display line measurement in kilometers, miles, meters, feet, yards, and nautical miles.
Polygon Settings
Select a Shape, Polygon, or Freehand Polygon draw mode.
Preview the polygon before placing it on the map.
Choose a polygon symbol.
Configure the following settings:
Color
Transparency
Outline color
Outline width
Show distance measurement - Enable to display polygon distance in kilometers, miles, meters, feet, yards, and nautical miles.
Text Settings
- Select the Text draw mode.
Preview the text before placing it on the map.
Type the text to display on the map.
Configure the following settings:
Font color
Font size
