Overview
The VEP Validator Workflow is a simple, yet critical iterative process that captures the ever-evolving nature of GIS data as you build and maintain your GIS datasets for NG9-1-1. It is the foundation of the DATAMARK VEP for NG9-1-1 Learning Pathway.
As each U.S. city and town prepares for the nationwide upgrade to NG9-1-1 capable systems, public safety and GIS professionals own the responsibility of validating, editing and provisioning GIS data into the Next Generation Core Services (NGCS) environment.
Today, GIS data quality and availability varies wildly from community to community, but the elements that constitute quality GIS are very straightforward and include capabilities for the following:
- Analyze and maintain the data
- Create and update addressing information
- Clean data with the ability to see anomalies, duplicate addresses, non-existent addresses and more
DATAMARK VEP integrates location data validation functionality and advanced editing capabilities into a secure platform that is accessible anywhere with an internet connection.
