What is Data Aggregation?

Data Aggregation is the process of gathering multiple datasets to seamlessly combine into one dataset.

The image below depicts the process of creating an aggregated dataset.  From the image, we can identify that multiple local PSAPs will submit their GIS data to the State for data aggregation. During this process, local datasets will be compared and validated against each other to identify any data discrepancies, gaps, or overlaps.

The goal of developing an aggregated dataset for NG9-1-1 purposes is to support the emergency call routing and location validation functions. It is crucial that prior to submitting local PSAP data for aggregation, these datasets meet or exceed a 98% synchronization threshold to ensure statewide aggregated data highly accurate and complete.
