Soundex is a reference tool that can be used to identify street names that sound similar or are spelled similarly to avoid confusion during emergency calls.

Search by Soundex Overview

1. Select Soundex in the Utilities menu on the left of the screen.

2. Enter the street name in the Street Name field. 

•     Auto-predict text will populate after a few characters are typed.

3. Select from the suggested street names or click the Search button.

4. The table displays a list of similar-sounding or similarly spelled street names, grouped by name. Click the Plus icon to see more information about the road centerline.
