Creating a Validation | Managing Scheduled Validations

Administrators, Validators and Editors can run validations on the Validate page. GIS data uploaded to the default database will run through a series of data quality checks to help determine data readiness for NG9-1-1 systems.

Validations may be configured to be on-demand, scheduled, or recurring.

Creating a Validation

1. Select Validate in the Navigation Menu.

2. Click Create New Validation.

3. Name the validation job.

4. To run an on-demand validation, leave the Date and Time fields blank.

  1. To schedule a single validation, fill out the Date and Time fields. Users can schedule validations up to 31 days in advance.
  2. To schedule recurring validations, select a Recurring Frequency increment:
    • Weekly
    • Bi-weekly
    • Monthly

5. Check the box by the Validation Sessions to run.

6. (Optional) Add a Note to the validation job for future reference.

7. Click Run Validation (or Schedule Validation) to run the validation or initiate the schedule.

After creating a validation, the user will be redirected to the Validation Results page.

Pro Tip: Schedule validations to run during non-business hours to optimize VEP workflows.

Caution: Validations are not able to run when there is an existing job running or a previously scheduled job within 6 hours of the new validation. If you get an alert that there is a job running or scheduled, retry the validation after the pending job finishes.

Managing Scheduled Validations

Administrators, Validators and Editors can delete scheduled validation runs if they have not already started.

4. Click the X icon in the Action column to:

  • Delete the Series (If recurring)
  • Delete the Occurrence
